Found my ancestor’s market square and discovered that my mother’s grandfather was a Farmer / Weaver.
“but his blood runs thru’ my instrument and his song is in my soul”
By Dan Fogelberg
I share performance skills with other artist-colleagues, because MUSIC matters so much. It lifts our mood, changes our plans, infuses us with strength, ignites our senses and comforts our soul.
In 1944, tragically far from his loved ones, our uncle gave his life for todays’ freedom. It was a true honour to seek out his resting place. And, once we found him, we didn’t want to leave. He was just 21.
With two of his soldier buddies resting on either side of him, I read him a poem of bravery, pride and love. Then, a long, teary ‘goodbye’ with my hand on his stone. We laid our perfect, white and American Beauty pink roses, and, shakily wrote our visit in the book.
Glenda is performing here in the nations’ capital city. This renowned 34th floor penthouse lounge is a spectacular venue. An exquisite, revolving restaurant is situated on the floor above. Its’ massive windows overlook the picturesque Ottawa River and nearby Hull. It was here, that Glenda met the handsome couple written into her heart-stopping ‘Song for Eileen’.
Glenda tours as a solo artist as well as with international bands. This girl loves to wander the world and soak up new cultures, apparent in her gifted song writing. Excursions in Denmark, Spain, Germany, Norway, France and Holland, to name a few, have greatly influenced her music.
